Getting a Handle on Autism: Diagnosis, Treatment, and Support in the Pediatric Medical Home
After seeing a patient with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), do you ever ask yourself:
Why is the incidence of autism spectrum disorder increasing?
What are the optimal steps in diagnosing ASD?
What is ABA? What are discrete trials? How can practitioners know what treatment is best to recommend for children with ASD?
How can providers help a child with ASD cope with sleep issues, flying on planes, going to the dentist? What short term medications might be used in these situations?
Answers to all of these questions will be provided at the May 12 NHPS conference on ASD. Plan to attend!!
