HB414 Passes Senate!
Oral health is part of overall health therefore oral health care should be part of general medical care. The earlier a child is screened and treated for dental disease, the better the chance of preventing further disease, and the less costly the treatment. Pediatricians are performing early screening and providing a preventive service such as a fluoride application in more than half of the states in the nation, including every New England state except NH. By studying ways to integrate oral health into pediatric well-child visits, we can reach thousands of NH children in their earliest years and reduce costly treatment in the future.
